Auroschnitt
Description
Auroschnitt gold fixative was developed by the master Swiss book binder Hugo Peller. This product has a formula of 2 extruded shellacs and distilled water. Auroschnitt is the preferred fixative for edge gilding. First the edge is primed using Armenian bole paste. Then the clear solution of the Auroschnitt is brushed on. The gold leaf is applied immediately, allowed to dry and burnished with an agate burnisher. Store in cool place in dark bottles. Shelf life is 5 years.
