Gelatin
Description
Gelatin is a translucent, colorless, brittle, nearly tasteless solid substance, extracted from the collagen inside animals' connective tissue. Dissolved easily in hot water or most polar solvents. Commonly used as an adhesive, as well as an internal or external sizing agent for paper.
USP Grade is 125 Bloom strength & Type B
Photographic gelatin is virtually free of mineral contaminants, making it suitable for conservation of photographs and the preparation of photosensitive coatings. Obtained by Alkaline Hydrolysis from calf skin. 220 Bloom strength.
