A trihydric alcohol, colorless, sweet-tasting liquid, soluble in water and insoluble in ether.
Glycerin is often used alone or in combination with the developer of Platinum Photography prints. Brushed on the rear of exposed prints across the whole surface or locally to produce a vignette effect. The glycerine process can achieve a painterly quality in the photo developing process.
