Dow Methocel A4C & A4M (Cellulose Ether)
Description
A very pure, medium viscosity methylcellulose (methyl cellulose) suitable for conservation purposes. The short molecule size of this particular grade of methocel is advantageous as it can better penetrate fiber structure and act more effectively as a size for paper and textiles, the consolidation of friable media, surface cleaning, and softening of old water-based adhesives.
A4C is approximately 400 cPs at 2% in water.
A4M is approximately 4000 cPs at 2% in water.
