We are excited to supply the extraordinary papers from this mill in Montreal Canada. The St. Armand Colored Papers offer a wide range of exquisite colors that makes them a favorite for bookbinders and designers. The sheets can be embossed and scored without cracking. They are ideal for printmaking, letterpress, pastel, drawing and painting in acrylic, gouache and watercolor where the background color of the paper will enhance the work of art. Please note that the colors can vary from batch to batch.
The Saint-Armand paper mill was established by David Carruthers in 1979. The mill uses their own own pulp to make paper, using mostly cotton from clothing manufacturers' offcuts, but also linen, flax straw and jute. The pulp is internally sized. The St-Armand handmade papers are made one sheet at a time following traditional methods. The sheets have 4 deckled edges and no grain direction.
