Butvar Resin
Description
Butvar B-98 and Butvar B-76 resins are a thermoplastic, polyvinyl butyral resins which offer a unique combination of properties for coating or adhesive applications.
The use or addition of polyvinyl butyral to a system imparts adhesion, toughness, and flexibility. PVB retains the clarity of the coating and offers reactive hydroxyl sites for crosslinking with thermoset systems.
Butvar B-76 resin has a Molecular Weight (MW) = 90,000 - 120,000
Butvar B-98 resin has a Molecular Weight (MW) = 40,000 - 70,000
Similar to Mowithal B30H.
