Nucera Polywax™ Polyethylene
Description
Polywax™ is a fully saturated homopolymer of ethylene that exhibits linearity and crystallinity in imaging and coatings applications. Their linearity and narrow polydispersity give these products high heats of fusion and sharp melting points.
Polywax™ 500 has a melting point of 88°C and a viscosity of 8.5.
Polywax™ 2000 has a melting point of 126°C and a viscosity of 55. It exhibits a sharp melting point, fast re-crystallization, low melt viscosity, heat stability, and resistance to chemical attack. The end uses for this product include anti-block, release aid, scratch and mar, slip aid, and thermal viscosity control.
It is commonly used in conservation as an additive to microcrystalline wax blends to prolong the life of the coatings on outdoor applications.
