Silk Tissue
Description
Description
This is a beautiful acid free paper of Japan. A warm, natural colored, machine-made paper with 100% Gampi, cooked with caustic soda and dried on stainless steel.
It has a silky feel, is quite transparent and is surprisingly strong for its weight. It has no deckle edge. Silk tissue is made from short glossy fibers of gampi. These fibers make the strongest of papers. Gampi fibers are resistant to insects and this resistance makes the paper very long lasting. A special characteristic of Silk Tissue Paper is its glossy smooth and easy-to-write-on surface. This A/F paper is used as an interleaving, a mending tissue in conservation work, a chine colle sheet for intaglio printing, aquarelle paintings, as well as for graphics and textiles. These very thin sheets are excellent for repair work and printmaking.
Sheet size: 18" x 24". Color: Natural. Weight: 10gsm
This paper is included in our Japanese Fine Art Tissues & Papers Sample Book.
