Ramieband Sewing Tape
Description
Description
Ramie is a non woven vegetable based fiber often used as a substitute for linen sewing tapes as a sewing support and reattaching boards. Because of its strength, thinness, and ability to fray easily at the ends and blend into a cover.
Made from vegetable fiber from Boehmeria nivea and their family members, a nettle. Comes from tropical Asia, It is a very strong fiber, 3x as strong as cotton, and has hardly any stretch, which makes it very suitable for strengthening moving parts.
